JASDF Hyakuri

Post by whitecat »

After visiting the airshow at Tsuiki I went for 3 days to Hyakuri. What a place!!! I completly understand why people say that once you've been here you want to come back.
Tuesday and Wednesday were perfect. Sun from sunrise till sunset. Thursday began with a sun but soon the clouds came in as the rain.
Activity was superb. They started flying around 8.30 and flew till sunset (and beyond).
Main goal on this base was of course the recce Phantoms.

A special thanks goes out to Niall (from the forum) and Juno (from Japan Spotter Association) for helping me out.

C&C are welcome.

All absolutely stunning! I'm heading there in April for the first time and can't wait - would you be able to pass on any information about the base please?

Cheers,
Chris

Superb.

What a base. Loving the dusk shots of the F-4s with the burners on.

Q: What spot was the shot of the taxiing F-15 (805) taken from? Roll on November

Chris - click on the link at the top of Tom's post - in the vantage point tab you'll find lots of useful information on Hyakuri and a lot more bases.

The taxi 805 was taken from the other compound near the towers. I think I used all possible positions during the 3 days as I wanted to have as much as diffirent shots as possible.
Glad you enjoy them.
