A taste of Aero India 2015 Big update.

Post by Fumbles »

Good morning everyone... well it is for me. I'm over here in Bangalore India for the air and trade show.... It is a small one but a good one...
I have to keep the first post short as I'm getting ready to go out for day two. Hopefully without as much murk in air. Not sure if these are good edits or not since I'm on my laptop. I'll save posting the best photos untill I get home so I can edit them on the main computer. So for now a little sneak peak...

You all in the UK miss these much?

Thanks for looking... It is 6:30am and it is time to get my driver over to pick me up. More shots to come...

Thanks for sharing Fumbles, sometimes its down to quality over quantity. Plus I'd be more than happy to take that Jaguar off India's hands

Fantastic to see a Jaguar, was it displaying or just static?

Think Jaguars are still being builit in India, or were until very recently?? If so, RAF - order some low cost Jags please!

Many thanks for the comment everyone. Regarding the Jaguars... I don't think the Indians are building new ones... From what I saw in the trade building is that a local company here in Bangalore has built a new engine to extend the service of the Jags. Also another company in India is now manufacturing new needed parts such as flaps, gear doors, slats and rudders etc... I'll be digging further into the story on this for a report in the future. So for now a few more shots from day two... again through some murk of the polution here... I'll be able to edit better when I go home next week.

Thanks for looking.

oops forgot one... The return of the USAF F-16 demo for 2015.... All I can say is that it is a very fast display and it needs very little to improve on.

The Jag and those 748s, lovely.

Could they put anymore stuff on that Embraer?

Nice selection, thank you for sharing.

Niall

Many thanks for the comments and the looks at the thread. I really did enjoy this show even though the static was hidden behind fences and the flying display was only a few hours in the morning and then a few hours in the afternoon. Aero India has a 1.5 hour Lunch break where nothing is flying, which means you miss nothing while eating some excellent foods. I took in the Air Conditioned tent that had a All you can eat Indian buffet for £10.00 plus a few Kingfishers at the bar in the same tent for £2.50 each.

Being the first show that I have ever been too that had a 1.5 hour break.... It was a welcome! Now that I have experienced something like this... I wish more shows would break for at least an hour. I really enjoyed not having to worry about missing something while hunting out food or a toilet.

So on with some more shots and I again hope you enjoy them.

As always Comments and Criticism always welcome good or bad.

Seriously cool photos, thanks for sharing. Where else can you see an SU27 (?) parked next to a Hawk, with a Herc behind them, all carrying the same flag?

And that Bison - it looks like it's being got ready for a giant game of painting by numbers or something. What on earth is written all over it? :dunno:

Great shots, must have been a great event (nothing so fun when I was in Bangalore last year, although the botanic gardens are quite nice :tumbleweed: )

Absolutely cracking set of shots of some very very tasty aircraft. India has such a diverse range of aircraft from so many manufacturers.

As for that MiG 21 , are those info stencils a new form of Stealth camouflage ??? Surely they could have found a bit more space for some more ???

Unusual for both pilots to be hands on in photo 33?

The IAF Flanker is actually a Su-30MKI - 'Flanker-H'

Flanker-C is the Su-27UB combat trainer - from which the Su-30MKI is derived.

2007...... IAF Su-30MKI and Il-78 tanker - the IAF Hawk was a pre-delivery example, IIRC ??
