USS Theodore Roosevelt From The Air 2015

Post by FastJetsBest »

Hey all,

Another amazing day. Finally the sun was out...perfect timing for the USS Theodore Roosevelt to come into Stokes Bay and anchor.

Went up in G-EDEL PA32 from Lee airfield which is based at Hanger B (LFA). Thanks to all that made it happen, Jon/Ian/Terry and many more. Just to note the close up's are taken with my 800mm on the 7DII, pretty hard but a few good shots.

Stunning shots! Shame there's now a RA(T) in place preventing overflights for the rest of the week.

Absolutely sublime shots & a fantastic opportunity, a real shame that a NOTAM has been placed around the carrier as I was hoping to fly over the vessel during the week.

When you see one carrier stuffed to the gills with warplanes like that, it reminds you how small and feeble our air arm is these days. And how we could never go to war without the Americans.

Fabulous shots, very envious. However, that deck does look a bit boring with all those samey F18s  Where's my tin-hat ?

Now that's what you call a "Show of Force"....Incredible!

Think I've counted over 40 plus F-18's on the flight deck, many thanks Richard for taking the shots!

Fantastic set. Must be your best post so far. Bet the 800/7 d mk2 combo was a nightmare to get stable in that tight space but well captured.
Looks like they got more stuff on there than we have got put together How bare are the carriers going to look when at sea if they do finally enter service and not get scrapped in the next Defence review.

A magnificent set of pictures, and I imagine they were none too easy to get. Thanks for posting. As for the ship itself, just awesome. Certainly looks like a "Big Stick".
