Re: Warthogs in Poland
Nice set of shots. Like photo 2 and the night shots.
Looking at them, can someone explain to me the reason for what looks like rather large 'dents' in the top of the nose. Different aircraft seem to have different kinds of dents but all in the same position, while other aircraft seem to have perfectly normal nose panels.

Tanker refuel boom missing hole above.

Cheers Brian, but I'm not sure we're talking of the same area. I can see the panel covering the re-fuelling boom. I was curious about the 'dents' above the gatling gun just on the tip of the upper nose in front of the stripe marking. The shape and size differs from aircraft to aircraft.

Yes as said , the boom operator missed the refuel area.
Re: Warthogs in Poland

Awesome selection of photographs
Re: Warthogs in Poland
Thank you guys for all nice comments.
Regarding nose arts:
This kind of dog I noticed:
On the door:
"42 TFS RAF Bentwaters first A-10 Squadron in Europe
81st TFS Fighter Squadron - last A-10 Sqadron in Europe (?)"
