'The day we sent Leeds down'
 Thanks for that. Thoroughly enjoyed having them yobs in League 1 for a while. Especially so since we (Carlisle) seemed to have a bit of a personal rivalry during their stay in L1.

I've only been to one decent ground in Norwich....and that honour goes to Norwich United's Plantation Road.

I took my sniper to that game instead of the camera. 100% hit ratio on Holt! (although we were awful!)

This thread has got me thinking about the grounds I've been to so far. St James' Park (Newcastle not Exeter) was very impressive, when you've finally climbed up the stairs, the view you get is fantastic. I went to Old Trafford for an England Schoolboys game so didn't really get chance to experience a proper match day atmosphere. I've been to old Wembley once and new, twice, all three occasions with Shrewsbury Town and they lost every time! Millenium Stadium in Cardiff twice, first time was for the first FA Cup Final held with the roof being covered (Arsenal v Southampton) and was back there just over a week later to see Wolves hammer the Blades on an unforgettable day :yahoo:

List of the others
Villa Park
Highbury
Anfield
Goodison Park
Ricoh Arena
Gigg Lane
Alexandra Stadium
Spotland
Abbey Stadium (Saw Dion Dublin play his first game in a Man Utd shirt there!!)
Madjeski Stadium
County Ground
Meadow Lane
Bucks Head (new and old)
Gay Meadow
and finally New Meadow (also known as the Prostar Stadium and Greenhous Meadow)

Unfortunately I don't have many pictures from most of these grounds though

I know 3 points makes it a better away day, but it was great to chat to Sunderland fans around the City in the morning and talking together as football, not opposition fans. I was shocked by just how poor Sunderland's performance was...a club of your size and the fans deserves so much better. I still think even if you get relegated to League One, you'll still be playing Premier League football ahead of us in the future.

I'm at Carrow Road next weekend.....not quite sure I'm going to get the same reception there!

I'm pleased you enjoyed it, and yes, its definitely a friendly place to visit as an away fan. It still amazes me when I go away to some places and see 'no away fan' pubs and so on, because we haven't had that in Sunderland for twenty years or so. That said, you find a pretty hostile environment when Newcastle United come to town

I was full of hope when Coleman came, and started putting the kids in the team. Surely that should do enough to put a few points on the board and climb away from the bottom three. But I'm now genuinely worried, it does not look good at all. We were dumped in that league, the old third division, once before by Lawrie Mackem-enemy, and it turned out to be one of my favourite seasons as a fan going to little grounds and walking the league. But that's easy to say looking back, it was one season. Nope, we have to stay up, get a new owner, survive..

Aviationcafe wrote:Some cracking photo's of the grounds in here, I've only ever visited one Prem ground and that was Goodison Park in the late 90's.

To me I find they lack the character of the lower levels of football grounds i.e:

Abbey Hey (nwcfl), Marine (evostik), Clitheroe (evostik), Barnton (nwcfl), Cheadle Town (nwcfl) to name a few.

The closest I'd get to a Prem ground now is the Halton Stadium in Widnes which is around a 13,000+ capacity, where I photograph for Widnes in front of the lowest which is around 30 supporters to the highest which i think is 452 in last seasons clash against Charnock Richard.

I know the feeling doing Dorchester Town in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier League, although it was an eye opener earlier in the season when we went to Hereford for a league game and there was 2600+ watching, only ever time we see any thing like that is the local derby v Weymouth but even now its around 2000 late 90's 4500 at Dorch one boxing Day.

A couple of new grounds for me to visit next season with West Brom and Swansea playing in the Championship, although being stuck in this league for so long means I only have 3 new grounds next year to visit! Next season is looking very much like the North & Midlands Championship with only 3 London clubs, Reading and Norwich all being within a 2 to 3 hour drive away from me.

So far I've ticked off 51 out of the 92 football league grounds watching Ipswich, so hopefully we can go on some decent away cup runs to fit in more League 1 and 2 stadiums.

Being an Ipswich fan isn't a proud thing to say at the moment....3 wins since early March and no home win since April.....and that lot up the road are sitting pretty at the top.

The East Anglian Derby back in September when only a couple of points separated us!

Yet more misery from Town......first up one is a few from our home game against QPR & away to Millwall back in October.

And a couple from our most recent two away trips to Middlesborough & Accrington. Just a shade under 1,000 miles traveled in a week to watch my team slowly dying. Can't fault the hospitality at Accrington, if only more clubs could take on their approach.

In 2018 I went to 13 away games and traveled a combined total of 3,850 miles
