Naval Aviation (no, not navel ;-) )

Post by Airwolfhound »

Not totally sure if this theme has been covered, had a quick scoot through the last few pages and couldn't spot anything obvious.

So , let's see any naval aviation pics that you may have, and don't hog it with those who have been fortunate enough to go on carrier deployments (I'm not impressed..........actually I am, just very jealous  )

Here's a handful from me :-

Just three from the archive...all scanned from colour transparencies...

Ark Royal September 1970...

Image

Lossiemouth July 1968 - 736 Squadron

Image

Cecil Field November 1974 - VA-174's Executive Officer's aircraft...back when US Navy aircraft really looked the business... Pristine external condition and colourful unit insignia on all squadron aircraft, not just the 'boss bird'.

Italy, anyone?

One of just three Avantis operated by the Italian Navy - They look so much meaner than their Air Force counterparts:

And, of course:

Or, from the Netherlands, at Cosford:

Another one from the dump works that is my hard drive.

Covered/surrounded by absolute crap throughout the day, so apologies for the quality, but the MiG-29K:
