Another AE 2015/2

Post by D90Man »

Not surprising, considering there were nearly 400 photographers there!

Exceptional access was provided by base public affairs and particular mention should be made of Colonel Kadioğlu, Major Yürtdan and First Lieutenant Ürsküp.

I'll just put a couple here - the rest are on my website http://www.planephotos.org.uk

C+C welcome as always

Leon

Well worth the visit...a blurred helicopter and an unmarked sminky pinky Viper!

I wonder why I post anything on here - it just provides an opportunity for low level comments to be made. (This just appears to be a continuation of the 'discussion' in topic http://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=66011) by the last poster. (Who hasn't posted any images by the way - ever).

Seriously considering if it's worth the effort - but thanks to those who provided comments and criticism in a meaningful way in the past.

Good luck with the trolls.

Hi Leon

I see this both ways, I dont agree with Glenn Hoddle being so blunt.

You have some lovely stuff from AE on your website so why did you choose to post up a blurred helicopter?
After all you did ask for C+C

Best Regards
Rich

Thanks Rich and Zigzag

I do indeed value C+C but there are ways of doing this which are not acceptable, in my view.

Pleased to hear that you like some of the stuff on the website - I'll change the helicopter image if that makes sense, although the thread might look a little odd afterwards.

As an aside, I do find the image size restrictions on UKAR a little inconvenient - it means I have to save different versions of the same image, depending on where the image will be displayed - or am I missing something?

Please take a moment to verify why you choose to share your images with others on this Forum? Do you genuinely want C+C or just plaudits?
I too have looked at the linked images & there are some really great images on there, but many have suffered with the inevitable heat- haze ripples, which is why I chose not to visit the A7 Retirement, Tiger-Meet @ Konya or this AE. event. For me personally, your 'good' shots are excellent but the likes of F4 73-103 is beyond saving, even with your best effort with PS. to sharpen & rescue it.
You have many better images on your site than the fuzzy Helo' shot & you would do well to add another one (or more?) of your finer shots at this point in the thread to acknowledge receipt of the comments. The 2nd shot posted is great, more similar to that quality please.
Mr T.Waddle would then have his one-man anxiety attack curtailed, maybe??

You're right : only taxiing shots or take-off shots long after take off were possible. Good quality shots on the first or second runway were almost impossible.
Only the second day at the end when lots of Turkish F-4s and F-16s left for home the heat haze had disappeared after a very welcome shower front which created nice black backdrops.
Perhaps you were at Konya before but I would not like to have missed it just because heat haze ...

If interested see what I salvaged at airfighters.com.

Hi Stagger2 and Soundbarrier

As I said earlier, I do indeed value the C+C - it's manner it which it was delivered that I had an issue with...

I also think that different people have different views of perfection - for example on the colour casting.

I have added a couple of other shots below.

Yes, the heat haze was definitely an issue down the runway - but my reason for those shots was to capture the atmosphere of the event, rather than just seeking perfection. I also try and show something a little different from the excellent images already posted by others.

I am not a professional photographer, who earns a living from his images - I am just a fortunate amateur who has the opportunity to visit some interesting locations. Sometimes I get lucky....

Leon
