Lovely set, some of the emotion of the day caught well...

Another vote for the scramble shot.

Fantastic stuff, looks very evocative and well thought out. I wonder if ground crew wore high vis vests in 1940

Some nice shots there matey and the scramble shot is fantastic. I'm very jealous. ( Love the two below 'the goggles' too... They are, after all, what it is all about )

You managed the shot I was after with the 'hot' griffon. I was stood next to the Spirit of Kent and just got clouds of smoke... Unfortunately, that was where my shooting ceased as I ended up just soaking up the sight and sounds. The noise of 20+ merlins and a griffon or two was just immense and worth the entrance fee alone.

Yes, the Mustang was a camera ship. Kev Wills, of Dawlish Airshow fame was in the back seat. There was also an Aztec in the air with one of the other formations.

Great post Ian.Prefer to see a post like this, which portrays the day superbly, rather than just airborne shots.
