Great set. What is number 3 - some sort of FIAT?

Very impressive. Please could you tell me what shutter speed you use for your take off photos and helicopters? Also, do you have any technique to keep the subject sharp at low shutter speeds?

Hi Avronut, for each T/O shot settings were different, you can find them in exifs, generally speaking somewhere between 1/20 and 1/60s. All helos in flight 1/20s. Yes, I have a technique to keep objects sharp during panning shots, just keep your AF point in one place, don't hold your breath and move your set smoothly so you can get something like this: 1/10s f18 @ 250mm.

Thanks Andy. Can I also ask if you use and tripod and whether you get a lot of blurry ones for each successful sharp shot?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

No, I don't use any tripod or monopod, with this equipement your freedom of movement, which is crucial in panning technic is blocked. I've try monopod but with bad results. My average score ratio is around 30%, depends from various factors like type of an AC, weather ect.

I love the photos of the puddle reflections, a great way to express the "other side" of airshows. And I can't tell you how jealous I am of the full disc 139 shots, they are marvellous.
