Just thought that because Torbay is literally only just a few miles down the coast from Dawlish, and that there were restrictions on certain displays (red arrows) at Dawlish last month due to location ....

maybe I'm putting 2+2 and getting 5!!

Was at Dawlish, I thought the Reds cancelled due to weather. I think it was Dartmouth they had the restrictions applied. It did cross my mind about Dawlish though especially S they have the naughty field behind smugglers. I'll tweet and ask

No restrictions on Reds? It was weather related, Red Ten was set up and ready to go right up until the last minute. Naughty field is well known to Dawlish and they get collections from it as well.

Put £20 in the bucket and brought the programme up on the hill. Still haven't received a response to tweet earlier. If do I'll post

It's taking place on Paignton seafront with the ground displays on the lawns. This could be another for the calendar depending on what they get in the flying display.I have a feeling there will be more and more seaside shows popping up due to what happened at Shoreham.

No coincidence whatsoever...we at Dawlish have just decided to have a year off with the uncertainties of the upcoming CAA/MAA rules review and a possible rises in event insurance costs.....and organising such at huge event as a group of volunteers alongside doing your day job is just bloody hard work....... :wall: :wall:

I fully support Kev & his volunteer team on his brave decision - as i know organising Abingdon the last 16 years its dam hard work when your holding down a fulltime job and other commitments. We started back in September as you have too....

From the website:
"The RAF aircraft have been confirmed and the line-up includes the world’s premier aerobatic team The Red Arrows, as well as the Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4, King Air B200 and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight aircraft - the Hawker Hurricane, Avro Lancaster and The Spitfire."

Is there a spot other than the crowdline that would be good for viewing, do people think?

Hi
This I guess is my 'local air show' this year (I live in Dawlish so am very much missing this years show, but look forward to its return next year  ). Echoing Wissams question, does anyone know a good place to go that isn't on the green? I was looking at an area across the railway line to the east of the green? Does anyone know if that's accessible?

Not sure where the display line is, but assuming it's parallel with Paignton seafront then the south Quay might be a decent spot for photography?

Roundham Head may work for anything fast-ish; I'm hoping so at least!

Here's the display lines...

Bear in mind that Torbay Council have put in place a huge number of road closures and no parking restrictions for the weekend.
Something like 25 roads closed, and 75 restricted.

The locals are up in arms...

Restrictions on 75 roads? 25 closures?

Supposedly seaside shows were the "safe" ones, according to BADA's mouthpiece last year...

If you look at the map , the majority of the 'closures' are actually 'residents parking only' ... so it's the usual thing of getting visitors to park in designated areas ( council/NCP carparks ) instead of them antagonising the residents by clogging up the local streets.
