771NAS SAR Disbandment assignment

Post by Sam-whitfield-swp »

I had the opportunity in taking to the skies over Cornwall with 771 Naval Air Squadron. This is part of an assignment I am currently working on for The Western Morning News.

Based at RNAS Culdrose, 771 Squadron plays a vital role carrying out search and rescues around the Western approaches, being on standby 24/7 waiting for a call to take action and help those that are in distress.

Here are a few images taken while on a training sortie over Cornwall. I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the crew involved.

Very nice. I rarely buy the WMN so a heads up of when the article will be published would be great

Hi Pete,

Will be next month and hoping for a 8-16 page supplement. Will release details once i know what the situation is. May be worth keeping an eye on my photography page on facebook.

It is a shame that they are disbanding and trust me knowing it would be my last time with all the crew was awful but, we need to think positive on how well these guys have been throughout there time and the professionalism behind it.

Always done a great job and will continue to the end...
