How about a BTCC drag demo?

Touring cars are horrendously heavy and slow beasts, a race against a Storch into a headway might be bit more exciting

What you want aeroplanes at an airshow? now that would be something worth going to see.

A thought, with less RAF display teams and maybe a lack of acts because of insurance is it possible that other forms of entertainment will encroach such as a stork v car, Brendon O'brien springs to mind

No thanks. Cosford need to build the momentum with the huge success of last year, booking acts with no impact signals a return to the days the show suffered with large numbers of less interesting acts and gimmicks.

Interesting array of opinions and thoughts, so thanks for them.

I actually did a poll of a similar topic on Twitter yesterday, asking if people thought "jet trucks, aircraft vs car races and related activities have a place at airshows today." 65% of responses were against these 'side attractions', but it should be remembered that most of the people completing the survey were likely enthusiasts. However there was also discussion that such diversification sometimes enhance events and flying displays. Actually my final year project at university (AKA Dissertation) which I am currently writing the proposal for will tackle this issue and the state of the UK airshow industry as a whole but that's a different topic... The whole team at RAF Cosford remain dedicated to delivering the Midland's premier aviation event and whilst I agree attracting rare and exciting aircraft to the show is essential to this, we must also remain open minded to provide enjoyment for all the family and keep innovating in the entertainment side of airshows.

Back on topic; there will be more details about the RAF Cosford Air Show 2016 announced in the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled! :ninja:

Trying to be as realistic as possible, it would be nice if either the Polish Mig or Ramex that had to unfortunately cancel this year could make an appearance, an F-16 from either Belgium or Holland, the Oil Spill 727, the Vulcan budget to go on the SwHF

As long as it's not Planes TV dumping themselves in front of the Cosford Club and getting in the way of people that paid £50 plus to watch an airshow not someone streaming it for free to the internet.

How about a slightly longer flying display ? Always thought that Cosford starts a bit late.

It starts a bit late to allow more people to get in to the show. Access into Cosford is limited, starting the show earlier means more people will miss more of the show.

The models & Jags provide a nice little distraction whilst you wait.

That would be good, Rich. Probably not going to happen - as wishful as the two day show.

I'd quite like to see Europe's debut display by Poe Dameron's black and orange X-Wing to be honest... Just so long as it doesn't have 'Spirit Of Yavin' on the nose...

More seriously, a Millenium Falcon vs Tie Fighter tail chase with pyrotechics would go down really good.

Peter, I know its probably not possible especially with ops in Syria, but if you could get an RAF Tornado GR4 in the flying display, my ticket will be booked this week, as i'm sure many others would!

No he can't because there is no RAF Tornado GR4 display next year. The only Tornado(s) you will see are the Cosford based statics. The only very small chance of a flying Tornado would come from the Italian RSV.Maybe ask Peter to invite that ?
