Hi Folks!
This selection of Wittmund Phantoms would not be complete without a set of images from the F-4 fly-out ceremony, or better the Phantom Pharewell which took place at Wittmund Air Base on 29th June,2013 (…is it really almost three years ago?) In a well choreographed display sequence four Phantoms performed a sequence of different fly-pasts and formations, partly together with two Typhoons, before splitting up the formation for a series of high-performance manoevers as singletons. The highlight was of course specially decorated F-4F 37+01 in its blue-golden colour scheme, giving the very last German F-4 display in history. The following series of images come in chronological order to give you an idea of the day´s display sequence.
Enjoy, and don´t forget … PHANTOMS PHOREVER!!!

Hi all!
Rounding up my posts on Wittmund Typhoons and Skyhawks in the Modern Military forum I would like to share these Wittmund Phantom shots with you. Please excuse the amount of images but I found it very difficult to cut down my selection of shots further and further…though I believe that most of you will appreciate a larger post on this lovely topic. Thanks for posting !!!
Living near Twenthe AB I regularly visited Hopsten and these images all look too familiar.
Bringing back happy (and now sometimes sad) memories ...
