Duxford Lancaster open

Post by docmattc »

Haven't spotted this mentioned yet.
Duxford have opened up the Lancaster for the public to get inside today for the first time in a long while. It's four at a time and only really the area immediately by the door, but allows a look somewhere we don't often get to see.

Open for half-term week and also for the Easter holiday, after which the chap said they'll see how it goes.

Wasn't there a WW2 heavy that use to go round the airshows in the 60's-70's. I seem to recall being at the then Biggleswade show and being able to get in and have a good look around.

It was actually owned by 100th Bomb Group veteran pilot, the late David Tallichet and now owned by Kermit Weeks. I don't think the CAF have ever had any association with this B-24.
It lived at Duxford for about 2 years from 1975 to 1977.
