"L'hotel rearseat de la Lexus" suited me when I was there last... Only suitable for one though and en-suite was dodgy..

Funnily enough I ended up in much the same situation the first time I went to KB, though not through choice as I couldn't find my damned hotel (we were, just, in pre-SatNav days at the time) and so I ended up checking myself in to L'hotel Rearseat de Rented Skoda, with Belgian lorries thundering past me at terrifyingly close quarters all through the night.

It was a somewhat bleary-eyed Skyflash who made his way to KB for the photoshoot the following day...

Yes,

There is a Centreparcs near by which offers a weekend airshow package deal.

You're thinking KB/Sanicole - there are no centreparcs near Florennes..
Phillippeville is fairly close and Dinant is a beautiful place with plenty of places to stay.

Doh! I assumed that the Air Force days were back at KB this year.

I think you might be reffering to the camping/ caravan site in Lommel, about 15 minutes from both KB and Sanicole.

I won't make this event, but if the EF-18 is back on the circuit for this year then that is fantastic news.

Indeed, work firewall must have been the problem at lunchtime! Succeeded with no problems at home later. Rather looking forward to it now.

Indeed Monsieur Skyflash! Can't even remember when I last saw a Spanish Hornet display! Gilze-Rijen 2010?

Yes indeed - certainly the last time I saw an EF-18 demo. Much missed and delighted that it appears to be back.

Have we just been particularly unlucky or has it had a break from the circuit for a few years?

Far be it for me to presume, but it would appear that the Spaniards have been struggling for funding recently, bar the Pat. Aguila and Pat. Aspa (and the Boeing-funded AV-8 at Farnborough), I can't recall a foreign show the Spanish have flown at for some years. I think possibly the Mirage F1 at Kecks(?) in 2011? Perhaps a Hornet somewhere, but even then it was clear that their commitments were dwindling. I seem to recall RIAT in 2011 confirmed Spanish F1s which went from flying and static, then just static, then cancelled, quicker than a NATO E-3!

Great to see Spanish frontliners back on the European circuit again.
