Very different lineup this year compared to the previous years lineups, which is a good change.
Maybe hopefully could get the swordfish and sally b in

Anybody thinking of stopping over Sunday night ?

I'm thinking UKAR Summer Pub Olympics. (UKARSPO)

English Pool in Hangar bar at airport ( plus tour of hangar with at least 2 Chipmunks in there ).

Outdoor Jenga competition at hangar bar.

Darts, full size snooker , 3/4 snooker and table bowls at a working men's club on a cowboy night ( shootouts and live country western - dressing up as Cowboys optional ).

No beer more expensive than £2.50 a pint !!!

That is a total shame, they need to get another helicopter down e.g. Chinook or Huey
Or get something like the swordfish or sally b

Tower Festival Headland . So as you say between North and Central Piers.

( was only temporarily between Central and South Piers, a few years ago, while they built the Tower Headland out into the sea ).

Thank you, sat on south pier last year and didn't get to see too much.

Sure you were on South Pier which is 1.5 miles away from the airshow ?

You'd have Central Pier in the middle of all your shots with the aircraft behind it.

Must have a big lens.

( I would hazard a guess you were on Central Pier if you thought was good view ).

The gazelle squadron are back on (unless they weren't taken off) the lineup.

Edit: Just asked them on Twitter and they can't make it this year :(

Yes without doubt, but will they - certainly not.

Fully aware it's a free show & all that but the line-up is looking very pathetic. The trouble is, they're catering for the 90-95% of the people who will attend the show (joe public) & not the enthusiasts.

Question, does anyone know where the Typhoon & Reds will base from? Reds don't base from Blackpool airport any longer, where did they use last year? Assumption is the Typhoon will use Blackpool airport.

My guess is that the Reds will fly into Hawarden near Chester on either the Saturday afternoon after displaying in Northern Ireland, or Sunday morning before heading to Blackpool from there on the Sunday.

It's been the case previously, can't confirm it yet but certainly a distinct possibility.

Nice one - was hoping you might say that Jeff. I'm based in Liverpool but thinking of heading south to see them rather than attending the "show" :snack:
