Got to say, I do love that song! :music:

I'm also really into this, atm. Quite a nice chilled out summer song:

Downloaded lots of Glastonbury and watched a lot of the sets of Iplayer. Good stuff was rare but I enjoyed-
Slaves, Sharon Van Etten, Wolf Alice, Spiritualized,The Vaccines, Palma Violets and er......that's it.

Caught Download 2015 on Sky Arts as well. With exception of Muse it was pretty dire and even a lacklustre Marilyn Manson couldn't rescue a poor line-up. Kiss FFS

Way back in 1996 Shed Seven were on TFI Friday and did a brilliant cover of the Stones Jumpin Jack Flash. I saw it in the early evening slot, and set the vid to record the later repeat. Played it many times, it was one of the first music vids I looked for on youtube. I would have loved to have bought this, and only found out many years later it was used as a B side for a single. Well yesterday I saw a Various Artists CD featuring artists on TFI Friday, and this was on it. A no brainer, bought and I've been playing it repeatedly since. Enjoy

Had a great few weeks of live music.

30th October we saw Peter Hook and the Light play a Joy Division/New Order set at the Manchester Academy.
Superb and I doubt if some of those Joy Division songs sounded better. This is from a concert they performed earlier in the year in Macclesfield where they played the entire Joy Division back catalogue in a 3 hour set.

Then on the 14th November , again at the Academy, the Wedding Present - almost exactly 25 years since I saw them last.

The week before last it was Marilyn Manson at the Manchester Apollo. Wasn't my choice but turned out really good.

From his latest - caution NFW or with small children or adults of a nervous disposition

Finally saw the brilliant Ash last night at the Ritz in Manchester, joyous power pop from a band that really looked like they were enjoying themselves as much as we were. A taster from a few years ago. Would have made good Bond theme.....

Live music - can't be beaten. Next year looking forward to Muse, Eagulls, the Duke Spirit and Suede. So far.

Went to Manchester on Saturday night to take in the Faithless gig.
It hit me that it's been 10 years since I saw them last, at Ally Pally! Where on earth has the time gone
In honour of Saturday's gig, I had already dug out all the their albums and have been and will be listening to them once again

I was recently introduced to Muse and I can't get enough of them! Psycho has to be my favourite but some really great tunes there (Mercy, Supremecy, Uprising etc)

Another recent band that I can't get enough of at the moment is Maximo Park, some of their songs are bit bit dated to the naughties now but still great nonetheless...(Reluctant Love, Write this down and Our Velocity rank among my favourites)

Others I'm loving at the moment include: the Fratellis, the Killers, the Kaiser Chiefs and Scouting for Girls - all songs that are a couple of years old but listening to them again I'm appreciating the lyrics a little more

On Tuesday night we went to Suede at the Manchester Albert Hall. The first half was a rendition of the whole of the album Night Thoughts with the band playing behind a screen showing an accompanying film. Spotlights illuminated the band occasionally. It had the potential to be a bit arty and tacky but actually worked well. It isn't often you get complete silence at a gig but there were times during the performance where you could hear a pin drop. That couldn't be said of the second half when the band launched into a ferocious assault on their best songs. Superb gig and Brett Anderson is probably one of the best lead singers out there. I don't think I've seen such a performance from a front man since we saw Michael Hutchence and INXS in the early 1990s.

Not from Manchester but Glastonbury last year when Suede stole the show.

For the last week I have been mostly listening to Muse. I couldn't say I was a big fan, I had a few of their LPs but then last week we saw them at the Manchester Arena. I doubt if there is a better live band around at the moment. Truly awesome.

A sample video from last year's Jules Holland performance.

Some great recommendations as usual, but I can't get into Muse at all for some reason.

Another blast from the early 90s. Long-deleted but thanks to the internet now easily available again:
