Just seen on ADS-B Exchange, a Royal Malaysian Air Force A319 serial M9NNA, land at Farnborough. Anyone know how long it is here for? Cheers.

Hi, I have just been watching NAF11, a Royal Netherlands Air Force Gulfstream tracking across the North Sea on ADS-B Exchange. Is this a possible welcome escort for the F-35 arrival?

Looks that way , as they've just shown an F-16 taking off on the live feed for the F-35 arrival.

The RNLAF Gulfstream GIV has been lurking around there for a while , so presumably also involved.

Saw the F-16 up before the live feed showed take off. Has changed course from the Gulfstream and has now dissapeared. it looked to be heading towards the UK on line with Leeds?

Has popped back up following the Gulfstream

Hmmm, unsure as this was 20:15 it buzzed me and the tragic accident happened in the afternoon around 14:40 according to sources. The heli I saw came from Blackpool (probably an error on FR24, but tracking it back did confirm it) However, a similar heli was around in the afternoon to assist with the rescue attempt. One can only assume it will be a matter of time before railings and signage are in place on the hill, as this seems to have happened 3 times now this year alone.

I worked in Holyrood park a few times, albeit briefly on each occasion. I remember a few people falling, but never a belt-and-braces approach with helicopter support. Given the proximity to Pollock halls, a lot of students take themselves up there at night, often kitted out inappropriately for the job. You also have drunks and runaway children rough-camping there on occasion, and I remember even a disorientated (tired and emotional) businessman that had somehow lost his trousers at some point during the previous night. The summit is also worn smooth from daily footfall, so I'm surprised more people don't fall off! The charm of the hill itself is that it looks bigger than it is, but all the risks of 'real' hills are still present.

Sticking a mountain in the middle of a city, specifically in the drunk student neighbourhood, was never a smart idea.
