We are well into August now. Only a few items confirrned. No major aerobatic teams. What has been the problem by now there is a full participation list. At this late point it doesn't look very promising.

Confirmed on the official page that the display will take place from 17:30 onward at Smart City, ending with a pyro display by Pioneer team. Static as per usual at the airport from 10:00 until 15:30.

Oh. Dont know much about Smart City other than its new build. Do not fancy that trec from the airport across to the coast which may not be that much fun. Maybe and hopefully wrong but is the beginning of the end for this show?

It happened in the past too with the show taking place over St Paul's Bay, twice the distance. Biggest issue is loss of revenue from people who don't visit the static.

I don't believe it's the end, I've been told next year will be 'balls out' for the 25th Anniversary.

Also hearing strong rumours about other stuff going this year, I'm looking forward to it.

Just posted on the airshow Facebook page...
"The Armed Forces of Malta has confirmed its participation in this year's airshow both in the static and flying display. An AFM Alouette III the island's veteran will open the show with the Malta Flag Salute. During the flying programme we shall witness again the AFM's AW139 and B200 king Air Duo that was a great hit last year when it was for the first time ever that the aircraft displayed together."

Not a huge surprise. Just wait for Ukraine to pull out now.

Probably just the 1 P-8, down to perform a flypast and appear on static.
Looks like Team Iskry are still on the list.

Ukrainian IL-76 came in and did a 200ft fly past with the two Flankers either side, then the Flankers peeled off half way down the runway. Some great pics appearing. Roll on tomorrow!! :yahoo:
