The 2016 event will once again see our award winning seafronts and west greensward be transformed over two days into a fun filled display/event site and flight viewing area. Impressive aerobatic displays will take to the skies whilst a whole host of exhibition, trade stands, food court and on-site entertainment are available at ground level.

In celebration of our 25th year and in addition to our day flights, we will be hosting evening flights taking place on Thursday 25th August (display times TBC).

Last bit makes interesting reading!
(Unless that budget is used on other costs)

Hopefully Clacton will be able to put on a show this year, what with the mooted changes to the CAA fee's.

Was a good show last year, will be good to see more like it!!

Question on Twitter
what effect do you think this may have on the Clacton Airshow? http://www.air-shows.org.uk/2016/02/air ... y-charges/

Answer
We are confident the report will not have any serious implications. Planning has always gone beyond statutory reqs.

As you look out to Sea the Display is to the right of the Pier, the center line is about half way along "Marine Parade West"

I hope this map link works!

Good job the Typhoon made a lot of noise, otherwise those on the beach wouldn't have even known it was here!!

Hopefully the mist will clear soon

Typhoon did most of its display and was told to stop it early, reported thin cloud at around 500ft. Can see through it but looks like a heavy mist. Mig-15 was in the hold and was sent back to base.

B-25 just called up and asked to do a single flypast to assess, reporting about 200-250 ft cloud.

Done 3 level flypasts and now heading back to North Weald.

UPDATE: Engineers are working on it now.

Thanks to itfcscott for the updates, wonder if they will reschedule those that had to turn back for later in the show.

Doesn't sound like they'll reschedule Nick, Fireflies did two passes and heading back home. Will try again for their evening slot later. Bronco on way in for a single flypast to assess the weather.
