Avro Vulcan XH558 Goodbye old friend
With today marking the last flight of the airshow icon, i thought i'd start a photo thread for her with a twist.
Post only 1 picture please. Not your favourite, but the one you took when you saw her fly for the last time. Whether that be Doncaster on 'that' flight, Fairford 15, or wherever, as long as it was the last time you saw the old girl flying.
I'm starting with this....taken on the round Britain 'last flight' tour, and this is simply the last time i saw her and the last ever picture i took of her in flight.
Too high over Windermere, the guys at Dunmail getting THE shot, she's at eye level as she passes me opposite Bowness, then banks, no engine power ups, just simply banks and draws away. I put the camera down realizing the tears were in my eyes, and this was truly aviation history ending for me.....then......with a bit of power added, her smoky trail presents a heart like shape as she disappears into the gloom.
Goodbye old friend, thanks for the memories. Your turn.

Don't believe the faked images from Rutland Water. They were high, and missed their line by about a mile and a half. Still, it was nice to say farewell to her on my home turf.

The final day October 28th at Doncaster. After the last touch and go, fittingly her final climb was into sky with the sun going down.

my last picture was her over what was left of her birthplace at Woodford. This was taken as she dissapeared off over towards the south. I did have the chance of seeing her on the last flight but i felt i would rather see her for the last time where she was assembled.

Fairford 2015 was the last time I photographed her, I did see her enroute to her final Shuttleworth show, but I didn't have my camera with me.

Last photo I took of her, last ever air display of a Vulcan and probably the last time I will see her, Old Warden 4th October 2015.

After the last display at Sywell, went round to Pitsford and this was my last photo of a flying Vulcan.

and that's a better sky than most of the time she was holding there!
