Coventry Shackleton Twilight run

Post by CameronSys »

Hi all,

Some of my photos from a very enjoyable afternoon and evening at Coventry Airport for the Shackleton photoshoot. Thanks to the Shackleton Preservation Trust and Timeline Events for putting on a great event.

Looks brilliant!! Nice pics! I did think I'd read somewhere that the Shackleton preservation trust was dormant, but it's good to see them up and running again, does this mean I can order some merchandise?

Thanks both! A very enjoyable and well thought out evening.

They are indeed up and running, with a taxy run planned for the later part of January. I suspect you probably could order merchandise again now, yes.

Hi guys,

Just to correct things slightly - this wasn't an SPT event, and the SPT isn't back as its in the middle of some stormy waters courtesy of certain people complaining to the Charity Commission. It may never recover. However, there is a very good bunch of friends operating a Shackleton for the benefit of the public - on behalf of its owner - and we'll continue that way for the forseeable future!

A lot of suppliers of SPT merchandise are still supportive of WR963, so if there's anything in particular you want, drop me a message.

Awesome photos as always Cameron!

Regards,

Very enjoyable afternoon/early evening. I gather Neil's events aren't to everyone's tastes, but I'm sure the day helped out the finances of WR963 and her neighbour nicely. Just looking forward to the day next year when you both taxy

Quick edit to commend Cameron on his photos (as usual!)

Richw82, thanks for the response, sorry to hear of the troubles, I do hope you can secure a bright future for the old girl.
I'm hoping to get down to the Midlands in the new year, (I'm on the isle of Skye, so a fair old slog) do you still have regular open days? I'd love a tour, never been in a Shackleton, done the nx611 taxy, that was awesome!
If I don't get down I'll be in touch regarding some merchandise.
Thanks, all the best.

Thanks all! And good that WR963 seems to be getting back on track again, despite any issues with the trust
