There seems to be a lot of late evening/night flying today. I heard the sound of fast jets and 3 X typhoons were westbound in the Daventry corridor. Looking on ADSB they seemed to be doing circuits at Brize before heading back separately and on differing routes to Lincolnshire. But looking around still some cranwell call signs up and a couple of helicopters and Hercs. The typhoons were ZJ806,ZJ804 and ZK382. Sadly too much cloud to see them but enjoyed the noise none the less.

Noticed on ADSB that C17 ZZ176 was in the Daventry Corridor so popped into the garden and had it go past at 11,000ft with a Reach flight C5 in the background slightly further south and at 24,000ft. The C5 was 85-0007 which I assume had just left Mildenhall. Rare to get two heavyweights in the same eyeline and wished I had a decent camera. G-XXEB has also just passed so these clear autumn days do have some nice benefits.

Aircraft enthusiasts believed a massive Cold War era spy plane was flying over Plymouth after it was spotted on a flight tracking app.

The plane was tracked – flying at about 400mph some 62,000ft – over Dartmoor before heading for Plymouth and then onto Cornwall.

...

"It was a glitch on the radar," one expert said. “After checking the radar we can confirm the aircraft was in fact a Sea King from RNAS Culdrose. After checking various codes on the system, it matches one for this particular aircraft."

Heard it routing down towards Lands End , but unsurprisingly no destination given.
Tracked it on ADS-B Exchange , and as frequently happens with such trackers it disappeared once it went out of range off Lands End but would occasionally pop up again , giving the impression it was still there.

Two pairs of QUIDs ( 31/32 & 33/34 ) currently heading SSW coasting out over Weymouth area.
Did hear another couple of aircraft flights using the callsign VICTORY , no idea what or if related to the QUID flights.

Currently working 278.60 if anyone's interested.

Based on their current routing, I'd imagine off to tank CLIP11 flight.

It's a radio call sign that KC-135s from Mildenhall use when on missions.

Looks to be lurking rather than RTB.
HF freq. 8.131 is active, so presumably something's out & about.

Russians still active on 8131 USB. The Russian Morse network is also active 8112 Kilohertz CW (Ground Control) 8990 Kilohertz CW (Aircraft).

8112 CW sending out W radio channel morse markers every 20 minutes for 2 minutes from the hour.

Morse still active as of 1240 GMT.

Excellent website for listening to the HF Frequencies.

Q9R62 still working ARA-10
There's a French C-135FR up in the SW Approaches which has been up for a while, so don't know if they're also involved.
