I'll do a proper update soon, but I was really, really pleased I managed this at OW's FlyNavy show in June, especially before the Navy Lynx all retire soon...

Here are some older examples of naval aviation. All taken in the 1950's at Blackbushe, back where the US navy had a base there and military visitors were a daily occurrence...
None were taken by me, I wasn't even born.
Netherlands navy Catalina 16-212 6/9/1955
Image

WT960 Skyraider AEW1 of 849sqn on the same day
Image

Martin Mariner of the Netherlands navy 16-304 seen on 4/9/57. One of their very few visits to the UK as they were based in Aruba and returned to Holland only for maintenance.
Image

One of the home base Beech SNB-5 23760 of FASRON 200, these were used for UK airways training and by desk pilots based in the London HQ
Image

have many more if anybody is interested?
Should be having a book out in the next few months' Blackbushe-London's lost airport 1942-60'.

Well since you asked so nicely. The resident Blackbushe USN facility handled lots of visitors between 1954-60 when it moved to West Malling for a short time before its long stay at Mildenhall. There were the almost dailt flights from the US operated by R7V (Constellation) or later by R6D (DC-6), there was a three times a week European shuttle service by R5D (DC-4), plus many ad hoc flights by R5D. The p2V Neptunes were regulars as they were coming from/to deployments in the Med and the crews liked to stop for some R&R in London on the way. The most interesting were the Martin P4M Mercator of VQ-2. These 'elint' aircraft were detached from Port Lyautey and operated surveillance flights over the Baltic from Blackbushe monorting the Soviet navy.
One of the regular R5D flights from VR-24 with the airwork area and tower in the background, all wantonly destroyed in 1960

A line up of North American AJ-2 Savage's that appeared on mass in 1955, not a regular occurrence
