Hi everyone,
Spent a nice day today with the COAP and some others friends inside the base for the last flying day of the last repetition course held at Sion. Although Hornet and Tiger squadrons will still fly from Sion in 2017, there is nothing planned for 2018. Sion remains a civil and public airport and will only serves as alternate airport for the Swiss Air Force in the future.
Sad moments for me as I spent most of my military duty in Wallis.

All stunning pctures there. The F-5 is such a good looking aircraft.

Phillipe, thanks for organising the visit inside for us, I've only just got home so haven't even looked at my pics yet. What a day! Really hope that it isn't the end for military ops from Sion and they see sense to keep the base active for a lot longer.
Dave.
