Your first port of call should be the RAFCTE

What does that even mean??

I'm sure Scampton will have info regarding volunteering on their website, a la RIAT, when they are at the stage of looking for people to help.

From the Scampton Airshow Facebook page....

Airshow Director Paul Sall spoke to BBC Radio Lincolnshire this morning about next year's Scampton Airshow.

If you are interested in volunteering at the show and supporting the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust in the process, then send your contact details to volunteers@scamptonairshow.com.

The Trust supports the RAF family in many ways, including the Junior Ranks Pilot Scholarship Scheme. You can read more about the Trust's work here: bit.ly/28RYKsd

I have put myself forward to volunteer, so hopefully I will be able too! Not sure what the odds are though!

Having offered my services, I was wondering at what point I might expect some feedback from the organisers?

Can anyone give me an indication from their experience volunteering at RIAT please.

There is no particular urgency, other than it would be helpful in planning out leave from work.

I put myself down months ago and haven't heard anything either.

I contacted them last year but have only this week had a response from them. They are still in early planning stages so don't be disheartened if you've not heard anything yet.

Me too. A generic reply, saying they will be in touch via the phone at some point and that they had more volunteers than positions to fill.

Probably 'too many volunteers' because that way the temporary staff can park on-base & see the underwhelming, over-priced Festival of Mediocrity for free?

Made similar enquiries regards volunteering at last year's RIAT, to no avail it seems given that I'm still awaiting a response...

May have considered applying to help at this show had that gone differently.

Her'e's hoping you hear back soon, Andy!

I did get an email arranging a telephone call for the following day, about 10 days ago. This has lead to a volunteer role.

However I do know of a number of people who have heard nothing, people who I would consider far better qualified than myself. So not really sure how it works?

Maybe things will become clear over the last few days of the month?
