Gloster Meteor T7 - WA591

Post by lynothehammer »

Seeing as it's been announced that it's due to depart UK shores for the USA it deserved it's own thread.

I honestly don't think i've ever seen a poor display from this absolute legend of a vintage jet...

Couple of photos from a frankly superb display at the Victory Show at Cosby in 2015. Gracefully flown in absolutely belting conditions and awesome blue skies.

I love those Dawlish shots Seamus. How English those scenes are. Perfect.

I agree with everyone, obviously. Its a great shame the Meteor is going. I saw it a few times and it was always lovely, but the occasion that stands out for me was Southport in 2012.

Have memories of her up on breeze blocks as the gate guardian at RAF Woodvale whilst on Liverpool UAS - at the time never imagined that she would be restored to flight.

Sad to see her go over to the States, however if they have the funds to keep her in the air, then so be it.
