Don't be put off by the above. Only once in the last five years has a day reached beyond its allocation and applications have been refused. I've booked my ferry and camping ready for the first spotters day.

That'll be twice now then?? Applications for Thursday 8th /Week 1 are at cut-off!

Correct the first event is fully subscribed (pre-security clearance), only the second day (14th) has places left.

I suspect this has a lot to do with the exercise at Florennes which invokes Greek F-4's announcing a spotters day on the 15th.

Travelling from the West Coast of France to Florennes in one evening/night is a big task, 8 hour drive at the best of times.

Do what I'm doing, drive some of the way on the 14th, hotel, then carry on early on the 15th.

Agreed. Easy as!! Landivisiau to Florennes is 512 miles, suggested official time on-route is 7hrs-40 minutes which equates to less than 67mph average. You're more likely to get a Parking Ticket!
Spotter-day done & dusted by 18:00, then 5 hours driving, a cheap Roach Motel & adjust ETD to suit progress made on the evening before. Voila!!

Anyone know what the cut-off number for the 14th is? Just applied and got number 1469 so wouldn't hang around if you've yet to register!

Update regarding registration/security:

To all pre-reigistered spotters,
We would like to inform you all that the security checks are already under way, once green light is given by the Navy HQ you will be contacted with payment instructions.
Also if problems are detected with your registration, you will be contacted to provide further information.
The entire process will unfortunately take up several weeks.
So no need to panic, if you have not yet been contacted.

Another update from the registration team, received via email

Dear Spotter,
Since your pre-registration, we have started the procedure to give you access to the base, and we are gathering the missing information from all of you. For safety issues considering the security level on the French soil, the French HQ requires this long, nonetheless necessary procedure. Therefore you will be able to enjoy safely this day. We are conscious of the impatience that waiting can create, and we are hoping to send you the first answers at the end of the month. We will come to you in order for you to continue your registration.
We are sorry for the inconvenience. Be aware that we are doing everything in our power to give you information as quickly as possible.
Tiger Tiger Tiger !!!

That's a grrrrr-eat line up. Only disappointment is ECE30- or CEAM as it will always be to me, are sending Rafales rather than 2k variants...

Not that I am aware.

14 Rafale
14 Typhoon
8 Hornet
4 Tonka
9 F-16
4 Gripen

That's 53 afterburning fast jets taking part operating from one base! :yahoo: that will make the mass launches from the NOMAD exercise days look tiny!

Cannot wait! :win:

Nothing here Chris. The following update was posted on 15th March, but nothing since:

"Dear Spotter,

We have decided that payments will be operated through Paypal, and we will give you the link later. Since your pre-registration, we have started the procedure to give you access to the base, and we are gathering the missing information from all of you. For safety issues considering the security level on the French soil, the French HQ requires this long, nonetheless necessary procedure."

Hi guys,

One of the registrator team member wrote on a French spotter Facebook page yesterday that they are working on it, even during week ends, and everything should arrive in the coming days. He also asked to check your spam box but I'm sure you already did it.

Everything is still on process and he asked us to remain patient. For your information several French spotters already received their answer.

Hope this will help
