Pairs QRA demo always looks superb, however the Austrian solo was nothing to write home about at Ostrava last year.

In regards to Typhoons, who does that now leave that can send one? BAE and Saudi Arabia?

But if we wasn't to get it this year is it likely we'll never have the days of old again? Was just curious. Didn't know where to post or ask

I'd suggest the RIAT Wishlist thread. It would be good if we could keep this thread for confirmed and 'definately probable' items....

BAE only work up a display for joint Farnborough years (ie last year and 2014) so won't display one this year. There are plenty of nations that could as yet commit static Typhoons, but of the possible flying, the Spanish are "only" sending the F18 this year and I doubt we'll see an Austrian display - the Germans don't do flying displays. Don't hold your breath on the Saudis either

That would have been a company test pilot using a German AF aircraft.

Last year they had a demo flown by a Luftwaffe pilot allowed due to their 60th anniversary. At least I saw it at ILA, somehow I have a vague memory that the aircraft was on static at Fairford.

BAE Systems displayed their Typhoon at RIAT in 2011.

Correct but do keep up, the conversation was in relation to a German demo at Ostrava last year.

Indeed - it's just that Pringles said that BAE Systems "only" work up a display in Farnborough years, and that 2011, when they performed, obvs wasn't one, which he might not have known.

And yes, Spotty_Jag, I'm well aware that the RAF didnt put on a Typhoon display that year (though I don't know whether that was the reason BAE worked one up or not - I seem to recall a lot of talk about the Indian MMRCA competition, and that France was attending with a Rafale...)

Of course you're right Tommy, that one had slipped my mind. Can anyone confirm if that the only non-Farnborough year that BAE have worked up a Typhoon display since the RAF began displaying theirs?

Last year the RJF were confirmed at April 28, so we haven't reached the date of DBH confirming them last year. The Hercules though was confirmed at March 31, so that one is late this year. Source: http://www.airtattoo.com/airshow/visiting/lookingback/looking-back-at-2016/latest-updates
P.S. just check a lot of Air Forces there just listed as invited or ongoing were actually at Fairford, Croatia, France, Canada, France, Poland, Pakistan, Australia.

I'm getting a little concerned about the lack of heavy aircraft thus far confirmed for the static park, apart from the p-3 & c-130 there is a lack of heavies and I think if my memory serves me right there were a few more this time last year.

Heavies confirmed by this time last year: Jordanian Herc, German Orion. Transall, A400 and Dutch transports that were cancelled later on. Stuation this year: Belgian Herc, German Orion and Transall As things stand, that is just one less (although I realise it is unfair to not count announcements that cancelled as we don't know if all of this year announcements will actually be there).

I wouldn't worry just yet, plenty of countries that support the show annually who are yet to declare their hand. Sure DBH have got lots of goodies in the bag for us all... :heyhey:

Oh don't get my hopes up. Could this finally be the year we're not 'treated' to the experience of the Falcans and their Briggs and Stratton power Extras.
