Could be a challenge for us, as all four UK based examples are already confirmed to be at the show... :handbag:

Here's hoping it's something good in the flying. Fast jet would be nice but anything foriegn or rare will do. Sea vixen maybe ? Been a few calls on there Facebook for it recently.

Today's update is that we've received our display contracts from Joint Helicopter Command!
You'll have to wait until Tuesday to find out what we're getting in full... but as an added bonus for Friday we can confirm that the RAF Chinook Display will be performing a full flying display on Sunday 11th June!

If I may be permitted a short violent explanation....
GET IN!
This completes the ideal line up for me for my first major outing to Cosford.
Great addition!

Are any of those three Chinooks actually still in a special scheme and if so will it be the display aircraft? A bit dubious to use that photo rather than one of a standard solo as posted by the UKAR account, otherwise to put it into context isn't it like selling a ticket to see the whole of Queen and then have only Brian May show up?

Good addition but was hoping for something that's rare or a fast jet not something we see at many displays over the year. Great display everytime though from the Chinook. Hope we also get a puma for static.

Yeah, great stuff.

Cosford always benefits from something with the presence of the Chinook which can operate from the venue, too.

Nice additions, a decent amount and variety of choppers on static and flying.

Quicks question regarding the flying display-will the order be announced ahead of time(Obviously subject to weather and usual operational considerations)?

Nice update, was hoping for something international or a classic jet though, sea vixen would fit the bill nicely as it no showed last year. Surely the budget must be there if there was no cost from the no show last year. Puma is the highlight of today's update for me. Looks like yet another year with only one fast jet for Cosford.

Which is exactly what you said for the last however many announcements, all of which have things that haven't been at Cosford "year in, year out".

I think RIAT 2015 was the last appearance for a Puma on static display? Apaches on static display not all that common any more either.

I have to wonder if Peter and the team were to have booked the Sea Vixen, MiG-15, Gnat team, two JPs and a Strike Master and not bothered with any current mil, if you would be bemoaning the lack of British military participation?

For the show, which is - as members of this forum keep mentioning - a recruitment tool for the RAF (and other forces), then surely having as many RAF (and other forces) assets present as possible is what Peter and the team should be aiming for? Not "join the RAF, you might get to fly...a MiG-15!?"
