Guys I can't make the show this year, but I'm wondering if I can catch some of the practice action. Is the practice display timings on the Thurs/Fri a common thing to find out closer the time, or is it hard to find out when? I do RIAT arrivals and know how much the validations/practices can deviate from the timing sheets. Looking to try and catch the Italian Tornado practice if I can.

Thanks for any help
I've done arrivals the last couple of years and they have both started on the Friday (I'm not sure about previous years), Its pretty much turn up on the day with a scanner and wait to see what happens. Last year the RAF Typhoon did a mini display which was a bonus. In 2015 the Belgian F-16 and Swiss Hornet both validated/practiced on the Friday so fingers crossed that the Italian Tornado will do the same.
I'm sure there are broad notams in place but never looked for them to be honest. In previous years Fridays have been quieter for aircraft movements than the Saturday but as has been mentioned it's definitely pot luck.
I'm guessing (and that's all it is) that the heavies will arrive on the Friday to position them in place, really wouldn't want a "grizzly" to squash one of the museum's prized assets!

Shows I'm Attending in 2020:
Well Um..
I'd say that's potential display practice times. I don't see a need for a NOTAM just for arriving aircraft when Tutors operate fairly regularly out of Cosford.
I would be happy if any of those nations provide something for the flying display. I think the French alpha jet solo would be very well suited for Cosford.

Planned Shows for 2022 - Midlands air festival, Cosford, Weston, Southport, Riat, Blackpool, Bournemouth
Osprey Display would be well suited to Cosford as it could operate from the airfield. If it were a wish list a Rafale display and a B-1 flypast. A PC-9 from Ireland with gun pods added on static would be nice also.

Realistically the show is looking decent now. Anything else added is a bonus. Only additions I expect now are 1 maybe 2 RAF heavys for a flypast (singular this is the RAF )
