Re: East Fortune Airshow 2017
Might have to make do with East Fortune this Year due to work colleague being on leave so might not make Sunderland on Friday so hope if I can't make it down there on Saturday might make East Fortune instead? Who knows?
Re: East Fortune Airshow 2017
East Fortune's Airshow page confirming the Red Arrows, Tutor and BBMF but no mention of Typhoon.

Their Airshow page suggests re closing the show on (EF's) 20th Anniversary year - that honour will fall on the Reds. Quote below taken from said page.
"RAF Aerobatic team the Red Arrows will make a high-octane return to Scotland's National Airshow, topping the bill on the event’s 20th anniversary line-up"

It was on the Typhoon schedule for 2017 display season and as on same weekend as Sunderland would be strange if withdrawn. Unlikely I'd think.
B-17 though - excellent.

Thought so too, just wondering why it's not listed on their (East Fortune Airshow) website, when it seems Typhoon have confirmed, as you have mentioned via their display schedule, and Twitter.
Re: East Fortune Airshow 2017
Would be totally shocked and surprised if the Typhoon didn't fly at East Fortune as the flying distance between there and Newcastle/ Sunderland is only minutes in the Typhoon - or any fast jet for that matter.
Re: East Fortune Airshow 2017
The Sally B members letter which arrived in the post yesterday lists East Fortune on their flying programme.

Pembroke I doubt will make it as the engine is being rebuilt.
Re: East Fortune Airshow 2017
Assuming the P40 is Hangar 11's I wonder if we'll get something else as I've seen mention that it's sale is now listed as pending.

Got an E-Mail from NMS today and it mentioned Typhoon will be at EF.
"On 22 July the National Museum of Flight once again plays host to Scotland's National Airshow 2017 and tickets are already flying out the door.
Back for 2017 are the sensational Red Arrows, the supersonic RAF Typhoon and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring the Lancaster, Hurricane and iconic Spitfire. Plus the daredevil Breitling Wingwalkers will perform their breathtaking acrobatic manoeuvres."
Still no mention on their website though...
Re: East Fortune Airshow 2017
Just wondered wether there are likely to be any other additions?

Come off the A1 at Haddington, should be signposted with the yellow AA Airshow signs. Traffic is usually not too bad if you arrive for gates opening, but expect the usual delays that go with airshows. We really only encounter bad traffic on the way out. With East Fortune's location, there's only one way onto and off of the airfield if you are taking the car in, so depending on where you get parked onsite plays a part in how quick you get back out again. I believe there's a shuttle bus that runs from North Berwick railway station too if you're not using the car.

Re: East Fortune Airshow 2017
Agreeing with that,
On the way in it's not bad, at all we tend to arrive just after the car park opens at 8:30. Since the museum gate doesn't open until 10.00, we usually take something for breakfast during that time.
Some people go straight to the museum access gate - I don't see the point my self, other than the line of port-a-loos, once the gate opens it only takes a few minutes to file through.
Some years it's taken longer nearly as long get out as the drive home to Livingston. Other years we have been out in 10 minutes after loading the car back up.
It's usually slow back down to the junction of the A199 where the police usually have a controlling presence. But once onto the that and then the A1 itself it's usually fine. Just like any other day you can get caught up on the Bypass.
