Weston Park International Model Show

Post by dominicm »

Wow! What a show it was. It had everything...and I filmed most of it.

This is ace pilot Martin Pickering flying the CARF Ultra Lightning sport jet like he stole it.

Flipping heck, That is some excellent flying. I fly a bit of RC but would not have the guts (or Wallet) to do a Knife edge inches from the ground. I will look forward to some more vids. thanks for sticking this up.
Cheers

Jase Dussia ROCKS the crowd at Weston Park International Model Show with his laws of physics bending aerobatics that threaten to snap the airframe at several times during his routine!

As if one Moki radial powered model was not enough. How about two? These are Hughes H-1 Racers as seen in the film 'Aviator' with Leonardo Di Caprio.

Not a fan of that type of Crazy flying but can appreciate the skill. Lovely Landing at the end though!

Are some of these Moves Preset on the Tranny as they are very precise?
Cheers

All very precise George but worth pointing out he is using the very best electronic servos in the model. Ultra fast and very high torque. A pre-requisite for the fast aggressive flying he performs.

Gunter the inventor of Smoke-EL has been to Weston Park International Model Show a few years now and always gives a great demonstration of his products. This electronic smoke system gives a very cool pipe like smoke trail, perfect for wing tips.

There is even a G-activated version...that I will share very soon...that would mounted on a large scale Rafale jet model.

Superb demonstration of this giant scale Rafale from Aviation Jets. This monster sized jet is powered by a Kingtech K310 jet turbine engine. Has 6 high torque Mks servers routed into a Powerbox system complimented by a Gyro Bavarian Demon Cortex for stability.

This Smoke-EL device’s GF-SmokeDriver is equipped with a 3-axis MEMS sensor which measures the force perpendicular to the plane’s wing. The G-Force that acts on the Jet in tight curves or loopings will automatically activate the smoke device and in turn deactivate it once the force is no longer active. Thus you can imitate a real jet’s wake turbulence. The force that is necessary to activate the smoke device is configurable but was 4G on this flight. The sensor can be adjusted from 2 – 7g (1g is the acceleration through the earth’s gravitation at the earth’s surface. 1g = 9.81m/s).

These helicopters are created from Vario Lama SA 315 B kits. They are 1:5.6 scale. The rotor is 2.5 m and overall weight is approximately 19KG. One heli features the EL-Smoke system on its skids.

Two masters of 3D and precision aerobatics (Martin Pickering and Andy Rigby) take to the air together to give us a demonstration of how to fly synchro with very little practice. But could be these guys are telepathic?!

Hans Litjens returned to Weston Park International Model Show to deafen everyone with his self built 'Scout' pulse jet. It's got wingspan of 1.2 metres and flies like a bullet once released from its launch ramp by means of a stretched bungee cord. No throttle on this model. It flies at maximum power until the fuel runs out or Hans cuts the fuel supply remotely from his transmitter.

Gee Bee R3 racer, a highlight of Weston Park International Model Show. And yes, it has the Moki 300cc 5 cylinder radial engine pulling it along. Anything else wouldn't be acceptable!

Don't know what happened here but it hit the ground hard. Shame. Pilot was just getting into his routine.
