Lost the swordfish and gained a Sea fury - I can live with that.

Lost the Breitling Wingwalkers and No Skyraider - oh well.

P40 replaced by the P51 - understandable change - always a good display from Hanger 11

The Wasp is a great addition.

Interesting to see the Dornier 228, anyone know who's it might be?

Hopefully a Westland Wasp and not Vespula vulgaris.

A jam jar with water in the bottom is good for the latter.

When can we start talking about the weather? Looking unsettled at the moment.

Hard to get an accurate forecast for the 22nd at this point in time. Maybe next Wednesday might be a good time to start looking?

Was onsite on Sunday, and the nice member of staff I spoke to said Typhoon was to close the show.

Despite a decent line-up I'm still undecided - waiting to see if the forecast improves a bit!

Is there anything likely to be operating from Edinburgh Airport at all or are they all at Newcastle due to Sunderland?

The weather forecast is starting to look a bit on inclement side.

That's a real shame.

And the Chinook team have now canned their display, reduced to a flypast only and citing 'recent changes in CAA regulations' as the reason.

Ah, the RAF. When the going gets tough...just pull the display.

Surely you just work to adapt the display? It's a helicopter. Hover a bit. Fly up and down the crowdline a bit. Make a bit of noise. Everybody's happy.

PDA is for a set routine, they can't then just make it up as they go along as you suggest.

If the RAF have pulled a chopper display - the writing is on the wall for the Reds and Typhoon

What's to stop them planning a new routine, CAA-friendly, and getting a PDA for that?

What it looks like is once again the RAF looking for the first excuse they can to pull a display routine.

To be honest, they might as well not bother.

If you believe this was only found out this week, then you're living in cloud cuckoo land.

If the Chinook can't fly then surely it's just going to be flypasts by the Reds and Typhoon too. Having looked at Google Maps it's certainly not the most over populated area, in fact you would certainly of thought they would be able to do something, total farce if you ask me!
