Some photos from a warm and sunny day at Old Oak Common HST Depot in West London today, celebrating 111 years of OOC and the Legends of the GWR.
The site will be redeveloped soon, so was a last chance to get together a number of the locomotive types that have been associated with the depot.

The only downside to the day was that you couldn't get up close with the line up of GWR legends.

Old Oak Common Depot Open Day 2 Sept
Re: Old Oak Common Depot Open Day 2 Sept
What a great lineup and a great set of photos from the day as well. Something that won't be seen again, at least at Old Oak Common.
Standouts for me are the OOC named HST, the immaculate green 47 (can't read the name unfortunately) and that line of Hoovers.

Re: Old Oak Common Depot Open Day 2 Sept
The green 57 has just come out from a fresh repaint this week. It is named "Pendennis Castle."
The 50's in the line up are:
50 050 Fearless
50 049 Defiance
50 044 Exeter
50 026 Indomitable
50 017 Royal Oak
50 007 Hercules (formerly Brunswick green "Sir Edward Elgar")
The other 50 in the Legends line is 50 035 "Ark Royal."
My mate took a photo of me next to 50 044. It is a kind of "30 years on" photo, as I have a photo of me in the cab of this very loco at Newquay station in July 87. The driver and guard were eating their lunch on the bench on the platform said "do you want to go in the cab." They continued eating their lunch whilst my brother and I looked around inside the cab. We were 8 and 12 years old. Doubt that would ever happen now.

Nice to see so many have survived tbh,

Fantastic report!
Unfortunately i could not get to this event, and as my brother used to be a driver at Old Oak Common, was there a Commemorative brochure/programme from the event, as i would love to get hold of one for him.
Cheers
Andy

Great selection there. Just me but cannot see any 31's there, Being from Dorchester (Dorset) we used to have a 31 hauled train from Bristol to Weymouth through around 7-50 in the morning and 6-30 at night mostly 31's from Bristol (BR) but sometimes had a rare visitor from OOC. even rarer was a 31-0 on the service.
Re: Old Oak Common Depot Open Day 2 Sept
There is a 31 there, just sneaking in on the edge of picture F.
It is the 31/4 from Epping/Ongar Railway.
