Re: Duxford weekend in B&W [Updated with colour shots!]
As others have already commented, the lighting for most of the weekend was 'challenging', so I thought I'd try processing a few of mine in B&W (and in the case of the Great War Team, sepia with crud!).
Hope you like them

Not overly struck on the B&W pics, but the GWDT editing looks great!

Re: Duxford weekend in B&W
Agreed, the B&W ones seems a little over done to me, but the WW1 ones look like they could have come from, oh I don't know, WW1! Super editing

Re: Duxford weekend in B&W
Is the "crud" done with overlays (yours or commercial)?

Re: Duxford weekend in B&W
Thanks for the feedback and comments guys.
sdad - I used Lightroom for basic processing, but the retro / "crud" editing was done using the Nik plugin, Analog Efex Pro 2. Google made the whole Nik plugin collection FREE sometime ago - they're very good and at a price you can't ignore
Within Analog Efex you can select various vintage / classic camera styles to apply, as well as numerous individual effects (film type, bokeh, scratches etc..). Well worth a play.
Here's a few more WW1 / GWT edits.

I think you should show them to the Team.

Re: Duxford weekend in B&W
Hi sdad, based on the feedback from you and others, I sent the GWT an email this afternoon with a link to this thread and offering to share my 'cruddy' photos with them . Not heard back as yet.
Re: Duxford weekend in B&W
Based on the 2nd shot of the first batch I would heartily recommend a sensor clean!
Beholder & beauty spring to mind! Marmite also. Good to be different, but sdadly for me deffo' not my cup of coffee!

I like these, something a bit different from the norm. The Lancaster shots especially are great.
The Great War ones are superbly done.

Hi Stagger2, I’m surprised it took this long for a ‘sensor dust’ joke. You’ve sussed me out – no fancy software editing, these are ‘straight-out-of-the-camera’ images….
9arrow and Spiny Norman – thanks for your feedback, glad you like them
Given the ‘Marmite-like’ qualities of what I’ve posted so far, hopefully I’ll be on safer ground with this lot.
Cheers
PS/. Had a response from the Great War Display Team – they’d like some hi-res copies, especially of the shots containing ‘Archie’, for possible use in their promotional literature. Thanks for the suggestion sdad!

Seafire and Corsair

Hawker Fury and Nimrod
..more Hawker Furys (of a different sort)
Tiger themed hangar walk ..
Fly Navy
Thanks for looking

Crikey, the Lanc's wings look crinkly there!
