Alaska Marine Highway

Post by zigzag »

Had a magnificent holiday in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska this summer, here are a few shots taken on the Alaska Marine Highway ferry between Bellingham WA and Juneau AK, what a fantastic journey through the inside passage.

More shots to follow of glaciers, wildlife, the solar eclipse, and Ive even got a few aircraft too, it was a photography paradise so Im still working my way through things.

Thanks, its was pretty 'misty' alot of the time (everyone we talked to said it was the worst summer in many years, with annual rainfall totals being exceeded by August in some places)

Some lovely shots Andy. Looking forward to seeing the rest.

We lived in the Pacific Northwest for three months in '93. It's very photogenic but of course it was all film in those days!

Love this kind of image, beautiful! I particularly like number 10, very well framed and just a hint of the mist / murk / or is it coastline dead ahead! Thanks for sharing

Sure is beautiful up there. I lived in Juneau for 2 years, totally agree about it being a photographers paradise. Really miss the scenery and wildlife, but the dark grey winter months that seem to go on and on forever - Not so much..........
