Berlin ILA 2018

Post by lambo17841 »

Looking to attend the above event late April I believe. Is there transport put on from the terminal area and a idea of entrance fee on the public days.?
Does the static stay for the public days or is it like Farnborough and the good stuff goes early.?

ILA Berlin 25-29 April 2018.

There has been in past years a free shuttle bus service from S-Bahn station Schönefeld directly to the the showground.

Nothing online yet about entrance fees.

In past years the static has also stayed for the public days.

Contrary to last time, the public days will return to Saturday and Sunday (source: Messe Berlin via E-mail). Also rumours that this will be the last time the show will take place in Berlin.

As far back as I can remember the public days were at the weekend, I went to the 2016 show on the Saturday.

It is quite possible that 2018 will be the last ILA in Berlin. The exhibtion grounds themselves are not all that large, thererefore the ILA takes some space from the airport BER, which is rumored to open in 2018, as it was to open in 2012, 2014; you get the idea........ For the flying display they use the officially not in use southern runway.

In '16 the public days were Friday and Saturday. If you went on Sunday, you would have found a closed showground.

Sikorsky tweeted recently that they hope to debut the CH-53K at ILA next year.

Next announcement of the opening of the airport is now October 2020. Also talks of Messe Berlin wanting to sell their site at the airport to the airport itself, with the condition that it can organise ILA there, but no other events. It seems their clients prefer to have their events in the city over an event at the airport.
