Post on Milscanners a few hours ago said they were heard discussing it ( although they apparently didn't specifically name the event )

Edited to add....
The GR4s ( callsign MONSTER 1 to 4 ) have been out & about for the past couple of days.
They were working with another aircraft, callsign OMEN 1.
Whenever I've heard that callsign used in the past it's been a Hercules. Don't know if that was the case this time.
No idea whether or not it's also participating in the flypast, or whether it was just coordinating what may have been the practices for the flypast, or whether it's completely unrelated.

Hi Brevet,

Any idea where the Clacton hold is? I live on the coast near Clacton and whilst I know of the local VOR beacon and the 'Clacton route' for flights into the London airports I've not heard of the Clacton hold before.
Looking at the lat and log details on the NOTAM it seems to be literally just off the end of Clacton Pier but if they have been practising it hasn't been here. Not fast jet noise at all in the last two days I've been working from home.

I'm fairly sure I can't miss 4 Tonkas at 2000 feet on Saturday so will keep alert near the time in case a photo opportunity presents itself.

They don't rehearse along the actual route they'll fly, they do it elsewhere - the QBF rehearsal is normally flown over Waddington for example.

If I recall correctly, the Clacton Holding Point is out over the North Sea, between Clacton & Margate.

Ah, OK so Clacton in the same way Ryaniar name airports
Unlikely I'll see them overhead then if they are out to see. Never mind.

Just did a quick search to see if there's a map showing the routing.
This looks to be it : http://notaminfo.com/ukmap
On the column on the right, untick everything apart from the top box in the 'NOTAM Details' field ( 'Show Navigation Warnings' ) & change the date in the 'show NOTAMS for' box to 11 November.
Scroll the map down & you'll see an orange route-line, with various waypoints, starting midway between Clacton & Margate and apparently terminating at Arundel in the South Downs.

Unfortunately for you, if the map's accurate the route goes nowhere near Clacton.

It the weather forecast for tomorrow morning is predicting light rain. Would they do the flyover in those conditions?

Just trying to work out if it's worth a trip into London tomorrow.

From North Weald's Facebook page:

FLYPAST UPDATE: DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS IT IS LIKELY THAT THE FLYPAST ON SATURDAY WILL BE CANCELLED

We were phoned by the CAA earlier today regarding the Lord Mayor's Flypast on Saturday. At that stage it was 50/50 that it would be cancelled.

The weather minima in our briefing notes for the flypast are as follows:

"The minimum weather clearance for the full formation are no significant cloud below 1,700 ft AMSL, 500 ft vertical separation from cloud and 5 km visibility."

A weather check will be carried out beforehand by an Augusta 109 callsign Ascot 1523 at 10.00.

The TAF for London City is not encouraging:

We didn't see anything, but we were in Regents park so maybe a bit to the North, weather was very murky so guess it was Cancelled.
