Been flicking through the HDD today, and thought I'd post a couple of my faves from this year, chronologically. I didn't get out as much as I did in 2016, but personally 2017 has been a pretty great year for me. In January I purchased a D7200 after feeling like I had reached a limit with my old D5100 which had been my first and only body until then.
Other than a visit to RAFM Cosford in January to get a feel for the 7200, my first outing was to the Loop in February:
Which was a blank.
Followed a couple weeks later by a trip in March, which yielded a rare appearance of one of the Mildy-based Night Owls:

I was invited to the RAF Cosford Airshow Press Launch at the start of April to write about the show and what they planned to do. Sadly the weather wasn't that great, but a couple of static machines were towed out

Followed very swiftly by Threshold's very smartly organised and cheap Gazelle birthday bash at Middle Wallop. Glad to have finally managed to catch an AAC Gazelle in decent light, to say nothing of the French machines.

This followed by the RT&T Fly-In at Halfpenny Green. Loooot of interesting stuff about, and was a nice and relaxed afternoon

Next up the Fly Navy airshow at Shuttleworth. Sadly not blessed with the excellent weather that last year's saw. Nonetheless, some delightful warbird flying. Dat Fury...

Next up (just a week later) was the RAF Cosford Airshow - I was there for three days which is the first time I've made such a commitment! Was amazing to see such a big beast as the A400M land at Cosford and taxi around the place. Beggar's belief, that was.

Next up was Yeovilton, some weeks later, and considering it was backlit, was a great event. Bloody hot, though.
Great to see these, sadly now retired.

Then RIAT, which I think I covered mostly in my thread from arrivals until the end of the weekend, but I never did update with any departures, so most of the below focuses on the Monday

Then after Cosby cancelling its flying display on the bloody day itself due to CAA illogicality, and bad luck at Fairford for the B-1 deployment, I popped to the loop to see if I could catch a Tornado or two before retirement in October

Aaaaand then finally, with the greatest of thanks to Rich for the head's up, I popped to Westlands in Yeovil to catch their first Merlin on a delivery flight. Sadly it would only last a week, as it crashed the following Friday during ground runs.

Phew. There are a couple of other places I've been, but nothing of substantial interest to warrant including in this already mega thread
Very well done if you all have made it this far. As per, I would love some C&C.
May you all have a very happy Christmas, or at least a day or two off for you grinches, or indeed, a nicer commute into work for those who are working!
Onwards, Geeks - to 2018!
All the best,
Tom

Couple of your faves?!
Nice shots though, might consider doing something along these lines as well.

These are lovely - the head-on shot of the Cat in particular stands out.
Posting comments on an aviation-related chatroom, are ya? Looks like it an' all...

A full and varied year for sure, some excellent stuff in there

Great stuff, makes me realise how little I got out this year! Let's hope the weather is a little kinder at Cosford next year eh, standing on that bridge was bloody freezing!!
