If so that’s a big old or should that be new, airoplane

Albeit the Mars has a considerably larger wingspan (~75ft longer)
Don't the Chinese have anything more modern to power it, instead of using the same powerplant as the An-12?

I think the Mars is a flying boat (as was the Spruce Goose): hence the Chinese claim to have the largest amphibian. Presumably its bigger than the Berievs, although I note that the BBC describes it as the largest "in production", not exactly a stupendous claim.
