Black Guillemot

Post by FarnboroJohn »

Black Guillemots are small auks that breed in Scotland with two outlying colonies in Cumbria and Anglesey. They are however scarce visitors to the South Coast at best, and those that visit are usually distant: so the first-winter bird currently hanging out in the Sovereign Harbour marina complex at Eastbourne is a real treat.

All on a fine sunny morning: nearby red-brick apartment blocks allowed the light effects in No.3.

Cheers

John
