HuwJHopkins wrote:So let me get this right. You want airshow organisers (such as those at Duxford) to talk to other airshow organisers to avoid clashes, except in the circumstance where that has seemingly happened and there isn't a clash (involving a Duxford show), where you actually want the two airshows to clash!?

Baffling.

You seem to have got mixed up a lot there Sir.

On behalf of the people, it would be in the interest of the Organisers to TALK to each other to avoid clashing. The season flies by fast, and is short, yet there is room for zero clashing IMO.

I referenced Duxford September Airshow, since I have been going (for the last 10 years plus), it has also been in the slot that Scampton has seemingly taken this year. Whether that is because Duxford and DBH talked to each other, or whether Duxford took it upon themselves to change the date; I was just putting it out there, in case anyone knew the reason for the change by DUX.

At no point did I suggest I want airshows to clash. In that respect, you've missed the point completely.

Apologies, I seem to have mistaken your displeasure at Scampton and Duxford not clashing as a wish that they had infact clashed, as that is the opposite scenario to the one which has displeased you.

I thought jets were a no no at legends. Does that open the floodgates.

Maybe like last year as a pre show act maybe? I don't know why people get so wound up about jets at Legends.

Terrific addition. Having watched them display as a quartet (P-38, Corsair and 2 Alpha Jets) on a live stream (think it was a Swiss show - anyway, I digress) it looked fantastic!

More likely to have been Airpower16 at Zeltweg, where I attended & saw them fly that formation?

Are we just referring to the Red Bull logos or are the aircraft modified in some way?

It's the inclusion of the Alpha jets that may upset some. For me I think it's great.

Ah right yes, thanks! I don't have an issue either, but like you say I am sure some will.

Great addition!

Will the Alphajet duo actually be able to display?? the Brietling Jet Team were unable to display at RIAT last year as they fly civilian jets, will this not affect the Red Bull Alphajets too?

Its not that ex military jets can't display - its that they can't fly aerobatics. So yes, the Alpha Jets could display, up to a point.

Hi there,

Does anyone know, when Flying Legends Airshow 2018 tickets, are going to go
on sale ? I have booked my hotel in Cambridge for the event, and don't want
to miss buying tickets for myself.

Helpful as ever Brian.

Eddie, the IWM website states early bird tickets will be on sale from the end of January.
Best thing is to keep checking the website.

Bring as helpful as ever  airshow tickets are now on sale. There appears to be a grandstand as well (£15 on top of the ticket price) but couldn't see where it was.

WARNING - The IWM have a new web site so beware.

Thanks for the tip on the grandstand. looks like its £42.50 for a senior plus car park. I'm not sure if it's a reserved seat or first come first served basis.
