Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but just seen this posted on the XM655 site:
Stop Press – Wellesbourne Wings and Wheels 2018
XM655 Maintenance and Preservation Society regret that the Wellesbourne Airfield landowners, Littler Investments Ltd, have not given authority for our proposed Wings and Wheels event in 2018.
We will continue to work with the Airfield Management to ensure their aircraft is maintained in suitable condition for events to be held in the future if this should become possible. We also continue to host visitors to the aircraft every Saturday, and will be available for booked parties to visit throughout 2018.
Sad times. At the recent Wellesbourne TLE shoot, the staff onsite were confident of staging the event this year

Yes that is a surprise. Sad she won't be able to stretch her legs down the runway

It's a big shame, the volunteers do a brilliant job with 655.

Gutted for them. One imagines Wings and Wheels provided for a large chunk of the group's annual income. A good event when I attended in 2015.
Does not bode well if the airfield owners are denying permission for events like this.

Reds
Whilst I appreciate your comment is very much tongue in cheek the choice of Wellesbourne with less than 4000 ft of runway for an aircraft the owner had hopes of returning to flight was always a strange one.

It seems to me that we're dealing with some extremely bitter airfield owners who, having their application to build houses there and destroy the airfield denied will stop at nothing to get 'pay back' on the locals, etc for their opposition - at least that is the appearance?
