Belgian Air Force Days 2018 - 8th/9th Sept

Post by Skyflash »

As mentioned on the thread for the 2016 show, this event returns in 2018, over the weekend of the 8/9 September, and hosted at the much-loved Kleine Brogel airbase. There's a website up already, though understandably it doesn't contain much info at this early stage:

http://www.belgianairforcedays.be/index.php/en/

Already confirmed via the team's own Facebook page:

- F/A-18 Hornet (F) - Swiss Air Force

I got excited then, I thought there had been an update to the site  Already booked accommodation, looking forward to heading back to KB again.

It's a good show, just don't like the static being in front of the runway or having to pay for the loos

Certainly intend to go at least one day, perhaps do the Brussels museums the following day.

Perfectly lit statics with uncluttered backgrounds - what a terrible thing to have.

You need to time your jump more accurately.

Booked off work, looking forward to being back at KB. Where is everyone staying? I plan to do Friday (if there's a spotters day), Saturday and possibly Sunday, but Brussels museums does sound like a good idea as I'm determined to tick a few more off my list.

Is the "Friends of the Belgian Air Force" a worthwhile investment?

Hotel booked in Bree, same one we stopped in last year for Sanicole. Three of us broke the hotel beer consumption for a single night  need to extend the record his time

Have been wondering about Friends of the Belgian Air Force myself.

Yep, dead easy, both ends of the runway are easily accessible. Also there’s usually a spotter package-type thing which allows you onto the base on the Friday which lets you shoot the aircraft as they taxi in, if landing shots aren’t your bag.

Airshow.hu say the RDAF are supporting the show with an F-16, EH101 and T-17 all possibly flying?

The Air Force also informed us, that types: F-16, EH-101 & T-17 will participating on events with Flying display, and everything else is for the time been planned as a static display.

That all sounds promising... presumably Slovakia means a return of the MiG-29 demo.

Great news but the Slovaks have been a bit flakey recently so until they arrive, I shall not be getting too excited about them.
