Fair play to Peter and the organising team, the Sycamore is something you've been after for a while now I believe, so congratulations on securing it

Well done Cosford. Both yourselves and Yeovilton are currently putting a certain premier airshow to shame with your announcements. Keep them coming please.

Based on the announcements of all three shows so far, I don't think he is. RIAT has also announced some really good participants - particularly the Canadians - but they've all been here before, Cosford has some pretty unique aircraft lined up already and Yeovilton is starting strong as ever.

Not wanting to be a spoiler of good feelings or something like that, but the people from Austria seem to not be aware of them visiting Cosford or Yeovilton.

Hmm, RIAT never announce much at this time of year, here's a quote from Boff from a year ago on the RIAT 2017 thread:

Boff wrote:Because it's January and there are usually no participants announced this early, apart from one or two (e.g.F-35 in 2016 and Thunderbirds in 2017).

Nothing different this year, no sinister motive, no one has announced their allocations yet.

Some people have very short memories.....

RIAT don't normally get going with their announcements until February/March time.

It's only January for all the shows!! February tomorrow by the way. I am just making a comment that a certain other show has a much bigger draw on air forces around the world and with this being a "special" year I had thought they would at least be matching the others for announcements and thus creating excitement.

RIAT don't tend to follow the other shows, they stick to their own schedule which is pretty consistent year in, year out.

Because RIAT are waiting on other air arms to send out there allocation. Much like why Cosford haven't yet announce that the Reds, Typhoon and BBMF are at Cosford, but all of us know that they will probable be there.

The reds aren't 100 years old, far from it.

And who says Cosford wants the reds to be there after last year's displaylinegate?

Sorry should have made that clearer :wall:   But wouldn't you be disappointed if you went to the RAF100 Show and the Reds wasn't there.

Just hoping that not too many displays this year will be ruined by using the alternative axis.

Because the Reds' fixtures haven't been released yet. They tend not, barring the very odd exception, to let their dates out in dribs and drabs.

So it's still only a probability not definite as Cole implies. Admittedly it's 99.9999% probable but until they are confirmed it's still only probable.

Reading the thread on Threshold's Cosford nightshoot in March I noticed that on their confirmed participation list it includes Bruntingthorpe's Buccaneer S.2B XX889. This aircraft isn't listed on the RAF Cosford airshow confirmed participants page.

Is this aircraft already at Cosford for restoration work or is it getting specially transported to Cosford for the nightshoot only? It would seem odd that it wouldn't then be kept at Cosford for the show.
