After loitering in this forum for many years I have now signed up as as such can ask a question that has been bugging me for years. My earliest aviation memory is of being taken to Horse Guards Parade (or Green Park part of what I remember is walking past the sentries in Whitehall) and seeing an exhibition of captured German aircraft. I particularly remember standing under what seemed to me to be a greenhouse - which I guess was a He-111.
Google searches have produced details of early such displays but as I was born in late 1952, I would guess that my visit would be 1955 at the earliest. When did these exhibitions cease and what might have been on display?

Thanks T_J September 1955 would be about right and thus definitely my first aviation memory. I wonder what else was on display.
