Wonder if anything's due in tomorrow.
There have been 2 'WIP' NOTAMs up for the past month or so.
Last week, one of them temporarily disappeared & the following day the U-2s arrived.....it reappeared after they departed.
Checking the NATS website, the same one has disappeared again.
Of course, it may simply mean that the work has been completed - is that likely, given the recent weather ?

Still nothing heard, but ADFS-B-Exchange is showing 1815 inbound approaching Westonbirt.
Not much faith in that position, though, as it appeared on the map out of nowhere & is being shown as flying backwards !

Just caught comms from 1815, requesting ILS for Rwy 27.

Cheers for the head's up.

Guessing either a U-2 or support for the three B-52Hs turning up for BALTOPS/Sabre Strike at the end of the week (hunch says the latter).

Hmmm....
The FAA's DINS website has a new NOTAM up for Fairford :
- FAIRFORD MIL ATZ ACTIVE AD. RWY 09/27 OPEN. 23 MAY 08:45 2018 UNTIL 23 MAY 12:15
2018.

And yet there's no such NOTAM up on the NATS website. :dizzy:
Given that NATS are the ones who publish the UK NOTAMs in the first place, that strikes me as somewhat strange....although it's not the first time it's happened.

And nothing heard inbound or outbound from my location.

People are slipping....nobody's called me an idiot yet....
I've just realised that NOTAM's for 23rd, which is tomorrow !

Still doesn't explain why the Murkin website has it up but the UK website doesn't.

Edited to add...
cap' has picked up on the date thing ( although he didn't call me an idiot  )

There may be more support kit or personnel arriving, the aircraft which brought the kit/bodies in may be departing, there may even be some of the deployment aircraft arriving.....or there may not.
As usual, I'm working Thursday-Sunday nights, so if the NOTAMs are published before 07:30hrs on Friday-Monday I'll post them ASAP, otherwise they won't be posted by me until after mid-day ( so if anyone else wants to, feel free to post them instead )

Sod's law, really, I've just had 2 weeks holiday & everything starts happening just before I go back to work

Not forgetting that previous deployments have involved various combinations of B-1s, B-2s, B-52s & U-2s, so unless the USAF publish a list of what they're sending for the exercises I think it's a case of wait and see.

Edited to add....
The NOTAM for tomorrow has now been published on the NATS website too ( times corrected to BST ) :
B) FROM: 18/05/23 09:45
C) TO: 18/05/23 13:15
E) FAIRFORD MIL ATZ ACTIVE AD. RWY 09/27 OPEN.

According to FC it's more stuff from Dyess tomorrow. It's been said that x3 B-52s are expected an unknown number of B-1s.

Guess we'll find out soonish. :dunno:
