Spitfire Mk XVI SL721

Post by DriesE »

Spitfire OO-XVI has made its first flight since its arrival in Belgium  . Some pictures of this nice bird, while it was still outside in the sun at Brasschaat airfield (EBBT):

The future for the warbird scene in Belgium is looking bright and we're eagerly waiting for the flights of some others gems:
- Hawker Fury FB10 (OO-ISS)
- Hawker Hurricane Mk IV KZ321
- ...

Hopefully to be continued very soon.

Beautiful. One of my favourite marks of Spitfire. Be nice to see it in a Belgium Air Force scheme though.

Nice to see an old friend, SL721 having been resident at Blackbushe with Doug Arnold in the days of my youth. Hope we might see it at a UK airshow some time!

Lovely shots. A bit bright and glossy for my taste, but perhaps the new owner might repaint it?

I hope to see that Mk.IV Hurricane at a UK show sometime - it evaded me when it was over here.

Do you know which Fury OO-ISS is?

Agree that it would be nice to see it painted in Belgian colours but at the end of the day I'm just grateful to the Belgians for importing some nice airframes. That Fury looks stunning too!
