Fantastic news! I was going anyway, but this alone gets me excited for this show.

(Would love to see it at Old Warden for the Military Pageant... )

What a shame. Despite the fact i'm attending - this airshow is such a comedown from last year!

Despite its historical links I really don't think Duxford is suited well for warbird displays. The distance that aircraft have to fly from the crowd and the existence of Old Warden make Duxford a real poor relation for older aircraft, but jets suit the venue nicely. Last May's airshow was the most I remember enjoying a Duxford airshow for years and years.

(And you have to admit, a distant single engined fighter with the sun in your eyes is hardly ideal!)

Thinking about a first visit to Duxford, can anyone tell me if there are any left luggage facilities available?
I will be getting a lift to the site and would like to drop off bags etc in the morning while looking around the museum and collect prior to the airshow if possible. Thanks.

From FAQ's

CAN I STORE MY BELONGINGS ONSITE?
No. We are unable to store your belongings/luggage onsite. Please keep your belongings with you at all times and report any suspicious items to a member of staff or the police.

Thanks Brian. Think I’ll leave the big photo gear at home this time and treat this as a recce for possible future visits by car then.

Good afternoon Brian.

Do you happen to know where they're going to situate this new 'photographers grandstand' by any chance?

Thanks.

Don't know about a Photographers Grandstand, but the Grandstand will be on the hard standing in front of the Airliners.

Ah, that's what I was afraid of...another way of squeezing yet more money out of people who would normally get perfectly good shots from standing at that position for nothing.... :wall:

Unfortunately this new grandstand (as well as being in the worst place for photography) will force people further out to the ends of the airfield therefore making it even more crowded!

I absolutely loved the May airshow last year, but this line-up is really lacklustre. I'm certainly excited to see the P-47 and Rafale, but otherwise it seems like quite a bit of filler!

Nevertheless, an airshow is an airshow and i'm sure it'll be worth the trip.

Thanks for the NOTAM. I have seen the circle(s) on a map and the straight line which is north of Duxford but I am struggling to understand from the abbreviations:
1) Which is the exclusion zone?
and
2) If it is for three days, how can any of the airshow happen apart from the one act?

Thanks.
